چکیده

Abstract. Tibetan Plateau (TP) is well known as Asia's water tower from where many large rivers originate. However, due to complex spatial variability in climate and topography, there still a lack of high-quality rainfall dataset for hydrological modeling flood prediction. This study therefore aims establish high-accuracy daily product through merging estimates three satellites, i.e., GPM-IMERG, GSMaP CMORPH, based on high-density gauge network. The new merged with resolution 0.1∘ focuses warm seasons (10 June–31 October) 2014 2019. Statistical evaluation indicated that the outperforms raw satellite estimates, especially terms accumulation detection ground-based events. Hydrological Yarlung Zangbo River basin demonstrated high performance providing accurate robust forcings streamflow simulations. additionally shows superiority several other products similar types, including MSWEP CHIRPS. publicly accessible at https://doi.org/10.11888/Hydro.tpdc.271303 (Li Tian, 2021).

Summer rainfall over the southwestern Tibetan Plateau controlled by deep convection over the Indian subcontinent.

Despite the importance of precipitation and moisture transport over the Tibetan Plateau for glacier mass balance, river runoff and local ecology, changes in these quantities remain highly uncertain and poorly understood. Here we use observational data and model simulations to explore the close relationship between summer rainfall variability over the southwestern Tibetan Plateau (SWTP) and that...

Evaporative cooling over the Tibetan Plateau induced by vegetation growth.

In the Arctic, climate warming enhances vegetation activity by extending the length of the growing season and intensifying maximum rates of productivity. In turn, increased vegetation productivity reduces albedo, which causes a positive feedback on temperature. Over the Tibetan Plateau (TP), regional vegetation greening has also been observed in response to recent warming. Here, we show that in...

Winter Mesospheric Thermal Structure over Tibetan Plateau

A mobile Rayleigh temperature lidar was deployed in Golmud (36.25°N 94.54°E), Qinghai in China for making measurements of mesosphere temperature from 55 up to 90 km. The mesospheric thermal structure was obtained during the winter seasons of Year 2013 and Year 2014. At the altitude of 57~79 km, lidar temperatures were much colder than the MSIS-00 model predictions. However, in the lower mesosph...

Significant seismic anisotropy beneath the southern Lhasa Terrane, Tibetan Plateau

[1] Shear wave splitting measurements using teleseismic PKS, SKKS, and SKS phases recorded by station LSA on the southern part of the Lhasa Terrane of the Tibetan Plateau reveal significant azimuthal anisotropy with a splitting time of up to 1.5 s, a conclusion that is contradictory to previous studies which suggested isotropy or weak anisotropy. In addition, systematic variations of the splitt...
